Bio
We are really excited to present this unique all-star project. They are taking a new, original approach to mixing jazz with Latin-American, European and African cultures. All members are accomplished composers and virtuosic on their instrument. Who are they?

Munir Hossn
Born in Brazil, based in Miami, Munir Hossn is an award-winning producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. His mix of heritage reveals itself in his incredible sound: he is a mix of African, Italian, Middle-Eastern, and Brazilian Indigenous, making his music undeniably original and deeply authentic. He has performed and recorded with Quincy Jones, Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, Jacob Collier, Maro, Ibrahim Maalouf, Concha Buika, Nella, Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Didier Lockwood, Alfredo Rodriguez and many others.

Jorge Pérez
American born Spanish drummer/percussionist, producer, composer, teacher and leader of several bands. In 2008 he got a scholarship from Berklee College of Music where he was selected to be part of the elite group “Berklee Global Jazz Institute”, in which he studied with Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Joe Lovano. He graduated in 2011 obtaining a major in Performance, and returned to Spain where he started Patax, a band with which he has released 8 albums up to date, blending flamenco, salsa, Funk, Rock, jazz and folk music. Jorge has worked with Jerry Gonzalez, Alain Pérez, Erwin Schrott, Chenoa, Christian Galvez, Jesus Molina, Jorge Pardo and Shakira among others.

Jorge Vera
Chilean pianist, Jorge, is arguably one of the finest young pianists residing in Spain, and perhaps even Europe. Anyone who has heard the pianist will testify to his outstanding virtuosity and intellect. In this performance Jorge Vera combines a haloed sound with a sense of drama and an unerring instinct for pacing. Vera’s music stimulates a wide spectrum of emotions, creating an enduring effect on everyone who has the pleasure of listening, whether he is playing a slow and sensual ballad or uplifting and explosive rhythm.

Zhenya Strigalev
Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Zhenya moved to UK to study in London’s prestigious Royal Academy of Music, where he was invited on the full scholarship. Since then, Zhenya has cut a dynamic path between the London and New York jazz scenes. He’s worked with some of today’s most forward thinking musicians (including Eric Harland, Ambrose Akinmusire, Tim Lefebvre, Chris “Daddy” Dave, Alex Sipiagin, William Parker, Aaron Parks, Joseph “Foley” McCreary from Miles Davis fame, Larry Grenadier) and has appeared at many prestigious jazz festivals and concert venues, performing extensively in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria, Britain, Switzerland, Chile, Argentina, Peru…He has recorded more than 6 albums with his groups Smiling Organizm, Never Group, JZ Replacement. His music is played on BBC radio as well as national radio stations in Austria, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Australia, France. He enjoys the challenge of shining a light on the undiscovered, and describes the desired on-the-edge thrill that unfolds: “The whole point of what I do is that I need to surprise myself”.
