Two of the UK's leading jazz soloists Lucy-Anne Daniels and Pete Horsfall present new project playing material from one of their favourite records, the iconic 'Ella and Louis'. Taking inspiration from this Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong classic, the pair will be supported by a trio of the UK's finest rhythm section players.
Lucy-Anne Daniels is a vivid storyteller, creative improviser, and fierce performer, whose sound is grounded in the vibrant worlds of gospel and jazz. Her powerful interpretation of lyric and effortless control of melody instantly captivates, inviting you to partake in the drama and humour, intimacy and connection of a musical communion. At just twenty-one, she has dazzled audiences at notable venues across the UK and further afield in Paris and New York. Lucy-Anne is boldly making her mark on the UK jazz scene and beyond, as one to watch.
Peter Horsfall is an award-winning jazz trumpet player and vocalist based in London. Jazz FM have described Peter as ‘truly an original new voice’, with his latest album Nighthawks critically acclaimed by The Guardian as 'ravishing' and by All About Jazz Magazine as 'one of the year's most original releases'. In addition to his solo projects, Peter has collaborated and performed with artists including Flight Call, Jamie Cullum, De La Soul, Jim Mullen, Kurt Elling, Kansas Smittys, DJ Shadow, Guy Barker, Friendly Fires, Chris Barber and many more. Major international headline shows have seen Peter perform as a soloist at The Lincoln Center (NYC), The Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Duc Des Lombards (Paris), The Jazz Cafe, North Sea Jazz Festival (NDL).
